The longest odds of any major lottery
1 in 622,614,630 isn't just long — it's the longest jackpot odds of any lottery covered on this site, and longer than any other major national lottery in the world. It comes from picking six numbers out of ninety, a far bigger pool than EuroMillions' 50, Powerball's 69 or Mega Millions' 70. The maths is brutal: C(90,6) = 622,614,630 ways to choose six numbers from ninety, and every single one of them has to be wrong for you to lose.
The price doubled in February 2026
For over a decade, a SuperEnalotto line cost €0.50. That changed on 2 February 2026, when the price doubled to €1.00 per line — still one of the cheapest entries into a major jackpot lottery anywhere, but worth knowing if you last played before the change.
How to play
Pick six numbers from 1 to 90. At the draw, six main balls are pulled, then a seventh — the Jolly — is drawn from the 84 that remain. Like the bonus balls on the UK and Irish games covered elsewhere on this site, the Jolly isn't a number you choose; it only matters if you've already matched five of your six mains. Draws are held Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:00pm CET.
Prize tiers and odds
SuperEnalotto is pari-mutuel: each tier takes a fixed share of the prize fund, split between however many winners there are that draw. There's no fixed price list to quote, so the table below shows each tier's odds and its share of the fund rather than a cash amount.
| Match | Odds | Share of fund |
|---|---|---|
| 6 (jackpot) | 1 in 622,614,630 | 17.4% |
| 5 + Jolly | 1 in 103,769,105 | 13.0% |
| 5 | 1 in 1,250,230 | 4.2% |
| 4 | 1 in 11,907 | 4.2% |
| 3 | 1 in 327 | 12.8% |
| 2 | 1 in 22 | 40.0% |
Notice how much of the fund the bottom tier eats: matching just 2 numbers, at comparatively friendly odds of 1 in 22, claims 40% of the whole prize pool between everyone who manages it. That's a lot of very small prizes.
SuperStar — an optional add-on
For an extra fee, you can add a SuperStar number to your line. It's drawn separately from the main game and can substantially boost what you win — including a fixed consolation prize even if none of your six main numbers come up at all, provided the SuperStar itself matches. We haven't been able to confirm the current add-on price or the full SuperStar prize table from an official source, so check superenalotto.net for the current figures before assuming a specific payout.
What the odds actually mean
622,614,630 is roughly 4.5 times longer than EuroMillions' 1 in 139,838,160, and more than double Powerball's 1 in 292,201,338. At three draws a week, a single line played every draw would take an average of nearly 4 million years to land the jackpot — by a wide margin the longest wait of any game on this site.
None of that changes with how you pick your six numbers. Every one of those 622 million combinations is exactly as likely as every other, on every draw. Number choice only affects how many people you'd share a jackpot with — the honest case for a random pick, covered properly in do lucky numbers work?.
Prices, prize structures and rules change — the February 2026 price rise is proof of that. Confirm current details with superenalotto.net before you play. Lucky Dip is independent and not affiliated with SuperEnalotto or any Italian lottery operator.
